inebriation

It's 4/20 in the spirit of the holiday im bringin in the mention of inbreiating substances. Drugs, Alcohol, and other things. In the zombie invasion these things will be either overused or forgotten about we must hope for the latter. When your crew is defending your base from an attack even a small one the last thing you want is to know that one of your partners is sitting in the corner stewing in his depression in a bottle of vodka. Or trying to ignore life while sitting and packing a bowl. Or even worse much worse then those low class misdemeanors would be if that same partner was sitting and snorting coke or shooting up. In the case of the low level drugs at the time it causes a massive problem but thankfully unless they've been on them for a long time its not addictive you could remove the substance and thats the end of the problem. If your high or drunk in a fight chances are your dead. Your reactions are slowed, your thinking process is slowed, but thankfully its a short term affect. By tomorrow your fine...as long as your alive. If your on a heavy drug like cocaine, heroine, LSD, or ecstatsy. You have much bigger problems addiction and mood swings from withdrawl lead to an unsafe and uncomfortable living envoronment. When forming your crew try to avoid weaker minded people, people who will hide inside a bottle of Jack or hide behind a haze of smoke it will lead to more problems then its worth. Keep all liquor under lock and key use it only for medicinal purposes or when you know your safe and keep it ratined give out enough for someone to cheer up a little and pep up but not enough for them to fall on the floor completely trashed. Drugs should be taken out except for medicine and antiseptics and things like that and even those should also be kept in control because an addict will try to get a rush from anything even if it means chugging a bottle of vicadin. Until next time

Benefits of close combat fighting

In a Zombie invasion close combat fighting is next to pointless. You cant incapacitate a zombie unless you remove the legs but no martial arts move will be able to do that. The only benefit of martial arts is escape. If a zombie gets a hold on you theres nothing you can do but escape you cant throw a kidney punch and get them to double over. The only thing you can do is escape from their grasp. Most martial arts style that focus on defense won't work if your going to use a self defense style learn one that teaches you to get out of other peoples grasps and avoids things. If you get grabbed by a zombie as soon as you get bitten your done for thats the last thing you want.

Your Crew

You cannot do it alone. Everyone thinks there the lone wolf type who can survive by themself in a situation like Z Day but that isnt going to happen. If your by yourself whose going to be lookout when your asleep whose going to guard the base from zombies or roving bands of humans who want your food and security while your out scavenging, who are you going to talk to when the incessant moaning of the zombies outside your door slowly drives you insane. You need a crew. First off the size, while it shouldn't be too small it should not be to big either it should be between 4-8 people 6 being best. With six people you could break up into 3 teams of two allowing const ant interaction with people so there is minimal time for brooding and always someone to keep you in reality. These teams should be seperated based on their abilities. If you have people who are natural night people and like staying up till 6 in the morning then sleeping till 4 in the afternoon, let them be your night watch, they can sleep the day away as long as in the night they are up and awake and attentive. While on the move this would not work because the entire team needs to move at the same time in a solid base it is probably your best option. Pne team should be of your fastest quickest people who would be able to travel quickly in and out of the fortress to resupply on whatever items you need. The last group should be basically your defense squad the most weponly sound people capable of carrying the most weaponry walking machines capable of turning the tide in a zombie battle. While everyone should have experience with the weapons you are using this last group should be the best figthers you have fighters who can take out a zombie from 150 yards away with an assault rifle, people who can take a crowbar or a axe and decapitate 10 or 15 or even 20 zombies and not break a sweat your most powerful killing machines. These groups will all have to share the roles inside of your fortress of cooking and preparing food, cleaning weapons, and maintaining order. Until Next Time

Where to go...Where to go...Where to go...by the time the zombie attack comes you need to know your prime place to go. Where will you have your best chance of survival, where will you be able to hold out for a week or even a month without needing to restock. Do you have objects or defensive procedures that can be put in place when your primary firearm runs out of ammo. Is it defensively oriented that zombies will have difficulty getting in. All of these things are important. My ideal location would be a high school, an empty high school, not one still full of teachers and students but after everyone has left. Think of it there are plenty of rooms so that every member of your crew will have a room of their own, there will be storage for all weapons and non perishables and it has elevated levels so if you destroy or block the staircases the zombies cannot get up even if they get in. On the first floor of most high schools is the cafeteria where there are not only kitchens and fridges to store and cook food but chances are there are probably supplies of food. While school food is not always the most tasty or most nutritional the school meals by law must be healthy and balanced so there will be food. Schools are rationed to feed hundreds of students a group of ten could stock out there for a while. Also when backup weapons are needed between janitors closets, gyms, workout rooms, and tech classes makeshift weapons could be forged. When scavenging is nesessary a high school is commonly set close to stores so that the scavenging teams would not need to travel far. When an attack comes rooftop access gives you an advatage two or three snipers or riflists would be able to hold back a wave of zombies, with enough ammo and a good enough shot and the fact that most high schools are set on higher ground a good sniper could take out zombies from a half mile away easily. Therefore a high school would probably be the best place to set a defense for a zombie invasion. Till next time.

Thank You

i feel like i must give respect to the man who taught me everything i must know in my Zombie experience. While i do not always agree with everything written he is the man who brought the thinking of Zombies into my head and taught me the basics of Zombies and Zombie defense. Thank you Max Brooks son of comedic genius Mel Brooks and far surpasses the genius of his father thank you for your knowledge.

As i sit in bed i think what would we have to do if the Zombie attack came in the middle of the night. And i don't mean mid war they attack at night because by then we'd be prepared with look outs and night vision lenses and high powered flood lights. I mean the first attack the preliminary strike only a small force somewhere from 3-15 zombies mosie on into a peaceful town slumburing in its ignorance. Then suddenly a moan a break of glass something alerts the people. But of course no ones ready why would anyone be ready. No one actually expected a zombie apocalypse. Maybe in this small town there will be one gun or maybe two and they might not be in service, loaded, or accesible, so you run out with whatever you can grab at a moments notice. First things first are you dressed, if not try and throw on a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt as quickly as possible the thick layers of the sweatshirt and the tough denim might save your life in a fight and the warmth will definitely save you from the cold. Then a weapon if you lack any hunting gear or self defense rifles then the best place to go would be wherever you keep your tools. Get to wherever it is if its a garage keep the door closed if its a shed shut the door as soon as you get in there then search. most importantly is the power it needs to be able to deliver a killing swing quickly and easily while keeping you at a distance the best weapons would be a light 8 pound sledgehammer or if your lucky enough to have one an axe. I dont mean a little hatchet thats one foot long i mean a real wood axe with a good three feet of length and terrifying cleaving power this would be your ideal weapon to stop a zombie. If neither of these options is there a crowbar will do fine but you'll need to get in close and if all these options fail your most dangerous choice will be a bullpen hammer or a lead pipe. Now where would you go how would you fight them the normal human instinct would be to rush out and try to take them by surprise but you must quell that instinct and realize something that most stupid humans will not... YOU CANNOT SURPRISE A ZOMBIE. The safest place to get is a narrow area where they can only come at you one or two at a time, a narrow dead end alley would be best just make sure you have enough room to get full motion with your weapon. Now make as much noise as possible to attract them to you and prepare swing as if your life depends on it...It Does.

Zombie Laws

Chainsaws. At first glance the greatest mechanical zombie repellant that man could thing of the loud roar of the power engine a great ego boost and the spinning blade to protect you from any living dead that come your way. But think about it how much does a chainsaw way with gasoline and all 20-25 pounds maybe more thats heavy your not mobile you cant travel with that, and even if you could you would still need to have extra gasoline. So even if it is powerful enough you would still be stuck in one place. Then theres the loud roar of the chainsaw engine think of it the engine will just attract more zombies to you when you fight zombies you want silence and accuracy you don't want to be that close to a zombie if you get that close while your trying to kill one your going to get bit by another one then its game over. That brings me to the zombie rules exactly what you need to know to survive when the zombie apocalypse comes.

1) Be Prepared. This cannot be stressed enough when the zombies come you won't have time to get your things prepared they have to be there already.

2) Stay Fit. When your fighting zombies your going to have to call on every last store of endurance that you have make sure that you stay fit.

3) Stealth is Better then Strength. Its much better to take a Sniper Rifle from a high view point and silently dispatch the zombies then to run in with a loud rifle that will alert everyone to where you are, hand to hand weapons while silent bring you to close silencers are a must for whatever firearm you use and its much better to use silence and stealth then loudness.

4) Be careful. Paranoia is your new best friend
